Riding in the Dark Peak around Hope, Edale and Ladybower is high on any wild mountain bikers wish list for very good reason. Here is drift and flow, rock and rubble, roots and gulleys – just the right amount of nadgery gnarl and gnarr to keep you on your toes. Cut Gate, Jacob’s Ladder, The Beast, Whinstone Lee – all the famous rights of passage….we’ll show you the full hand.

There is an astonishing variety of trails around this relatively compact ‘Dark Peak’ area, which gives you a true All Mountain riding experience without the big climbing grunt associated with the Lake District, for example.

Your Peak District All Mountain Accommodation

On this Peak District mountain biking holiday, we will be in a smart, heated, private bunkhouse with plenty of hot showers and other vital facilities, on a working farm near Edale, slap bang in the middle of the best riding and a ten minute stroll across fields to two awesome pubs – perfect!

What’s more, the bunkhouse is divided into four rooms of four, so snore-dodging is not going to be a problem!

What’s included in this Peak District MTB Holiday?

  • 3 days guided riding by qualified guides in small groups
  • 3 nights private bunkhouse accommodation
  • A Saturday evening BBQ, weather permitting
  • 3 hearty breakfasts
  • Coffee, tea, wine and beer
  • Post-ride cake!
  • Support of our MTB race van
  • Bikewash, secure lock-up and mechanical support
  • Some soul! fresh coffee, homemade cake, bbq, camp fire….

Is it for me?

So, we reckon this trip fits in as a slightly less demanding experience than our Lake District trips. Why? Well, the technical nature of the riding is equal, but the climbs are generally not as demanding simply because the hills ain’t as big and the valleys ain’t as low!

So, if you are happy with rocks and boulders and red runs at trail centres, and you are happy with five hours in the saddle, you will enjoy the challenge of this Peak District guided MTB holiday, no problem.

E-bike friendly?

Yes. Please see our policy on e-bikes and after booking please let us know if you will be riding an e-bike.

Getting there

For reference and as a guide, our base in Edale is 3 hours drive from the M25, 1.5 hours from the M42 around Birmingham and less than an hour from Manchester.

Edale has its own train station 5 minutes pedal from the bunkhouse (or we can pick you up!), so train travel via Manchester or Sheffield is an easy option.

After booking, your joining details will be sent to you 6 weeks before your holiday begins.
