We think this trip is always going to be the icing on our WildBike cake. Why? Well, 5 days of riding the most sublime trails in the UK amid the most dramatic mountain and beach scenery in the UK, whilst staying in the most perfectly situated house – well, that should do it! Chuck in white shell beaches, log fires, single malts, fresh seafood, great pubs and cafes, and, well, you get the picture.
We’ll be including two of Torridon’s finest adventurous rides, nipping across to Skye for some spectacular trails between The Cuillin Mountains and the sea, chilling out slightly across the Applecross Peninsula and finally launching into the remote singletrack fest that is the Fisherfield Wilderness on the flanks of the mighty An Teallach.
There are miles of grippy, crunchy, flowing singletrack to be had here, including spectacular slickrock sections and rocky, rubbley steps.
We only run this trip in late April or early May when the West Highland weather tends to be at its most settled, and avoiding the pesky midges of summer!
Your Mountain Lodge Accommodation
On this Skye and Torridon mountain biking holiday, we will be staying in our beautiful mountain lodge on the shore of Loch Torridon. A pub, cafe and store are a relaxing 15 minute level pedal along the shore and we are often visited by red deer with occasional sightings of eagles and otters.
Our house has 6 bedrooms sleeping 10 guests in singles and bunks, huge lounge with open fire, a cosy Aga in the kitchen/diner, washer/dryer and plenty of space for bike fettling. It’s as though it’s been designed for mountain bikers!
Shuttles between trailheads will be taken care of by our specially converted WildBike van. Your pride and joy will be securely clamped in place and journeys away from Torridon will be no more than an hour and a half, usually much shorter.

Is it for me?
The rides on this Skye and Torridon guided MTB holiday should be described as EPIC in anyone’s language. Most days will involve some hike-a-bike, though this is not extensive. Our longest day will be approximately 50km and involve 1500metres of up and down. There will be river crossings and a chance of severe weather in high, remote mountains, so you will need to be properly equipped.
The riding is rocky, rocky, rocky, in all forms – smooth and slick, loose scree, boulders, blocks……You will need tough tyres and ideally 140mm + of suspension.
In summary, if you are looking for real high mountain singletrack adventure in a stunning setting, this is the trip for you!
It’s easier than you might think!…..
By arrangement we offer a free pick-up and drop-off service to and from Inverness airport. Low cost airlines run daily services from many UK airports to Inverness.
