Toughness Rating:

This holiday gives you something a little unique in the Portes du Soleil area. We are focussing on riding the hidden trails, high above the berms and jumps of the DH tracks and the family trails in the valleys, and onto the high mountain singletrack that links Morzine, Les Gets, Morgins, Champery, Chatel and Abondance. Holidays that get you above the crowds and into the wilds are rare in this area, but the singletrack is just begging to be explored and ridden. We have ridden and re-ridden these trails many times and now present this epic route to you, dear shredder!

The trails that link these Alpine villages make for epic days on the bike. Typically we will cover 50km in a day, with 800m of up and 2500m of down. So the majority of the ups are on lifts, but some of the more remote areas require pedalling! The downhill rewards are sometimes fast, flowing and sinuous, sometimes rocky, technical, and/or exposed. In some places, your nerve and trials prowess will come into play. All good!

Is it for me?

This is a demanding trip on you and your bike! You will need to be a fit, adventurous and technically competent rider; your bike will need to have tough rims, big (2.3″ or more) tyres and at least 150mm of fork travel. Although we will not be pedalling great distances or riding many big climbs, (the biggest day is 49km, 560m climbing and 3250 descending) the altitude and heat will take their toll!

As a guide, if you are comfortable with big days out in British mountains in technical terrain, you will relish this trip; and if you’ve ridden this area before and have wondered what lies beyond…’s your chance!

Logistics from the UK

Flights to Geneva airport depart most UK regional airports. Economy fares start from about £80 for early bookers, and most will charge to carry a bike these days. We provide free transfer from Geneva airport. By road, expect to pay about £120 for short ferry crossings or the tunnel, then about the same again in autoroute tolls.

Arrival Sunday 15th July 2018, 5 days riding Monday to Friday, departure Saturday 21st July.

After booking, your joining details will be sent to you 6 weeks before your holiday begins.
